Hurricane Helene caused absolute destruction in some states of the southeastern region, including Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Western North Carolina has been particularly hard hit by the remnants of Helene, which hit late Thursday and into Friday. Many roads are now flooded and washed away, or partially collapsed, making them inaccessible. State officials have advised people to avoid this part of North Carolina unless they’re part of a rescue/relief team.
There has been increasing criticism of Joe Biden and Kamala Harri’s absence in the wake of the “apocalyptic devastation” in the NC Mountains, where 30 people have been confirmed dead and up to 30″ of rainfall was recorded at some points. Houses and vehicles could be seen floating through the massively flooded streets.
Harris, on the other hand, was enjoying a weekend of fundraising at left-coast fundraisers while Biden (again!) was at Rehoboth. Fairly, Biden already did the things that presidents do to clear the way for federal aid. The insensitivity that he displayed by relaxing on the beach and Harris’s by clinking glasses with megadonors at fundraisers while Katrina-like destruction was occurring elsewhere wasn’t lost upon their critics.
Harris’ handlers may have been thinking of this when they posted the photo on Twitter late Sunday night. The picture showed Harris with her phone in front, pen in hand, and earbuds in place, as if she were doing official work.
“I was just briefed by @FEMA_Deanne Criswell on the latest developments about the ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene. We also discussed our Administration’s continued actions to support emergency response and recovery.”
I also spoke to @NC_Governor Cooper regarding the ongoing rescue and restoration efforts in North Carolina.
Our Administration will remain in constant communication with local and state officials to ensure that communities receive the resources and support they require.
Doug and I are thinking of all the people who have lost loved ones, as well as those whose businesses, homes, and communities suffered damage or destruction during this catastrophe.”

It was also interesting to see the covering of the “vice”, part of the Vice Presidential Seal.
It’s easy to miss if you don’t pay attention. Her earbuds do not appear to be connected.
Why aren’t your headphones plugged into your phone? https://t.co/lkPykBzwdD pic.twitter.com/EHrXJuPE6E

Also, don’t you think your advisors would tell you to make sure your earbud is plugged into your actual phone, since you don’t seem to be able to think of it when you’re staging your shots? https://t.co/VqFcWjaBVu pic.twitter.com/lRtMyRvsqI

Some thought the paper that she “wrote” on was blank. But it’s difficult to tell.
Invisible Ink.

The photo has a few things that I find extremely annoying. If she was not on the phone, and she has been known to use her earbuds for games in the past, it is just another fakery by a team that tries to reinvent her as a great leader every day.
Harris’s other priorities didn’t allow him to express more than the minimum amount of concern for the hundreds and thousands of people who were negatively affected in my state.
Headset not plugged into the phone really says it all here. https://t.co/C1bEsJ0In6 pic.twitter.com/nqTWxUYs91

The caption and photo, whether the headphones are in place or not, say a lot, none of which is good, about Kamala Harris.
