Democrats Pin Hopes on Porn Addiction to Boost Kamala Harris… Seriously

Now we’re seeing the desperate part of the Democrat Party campaign. The porn industry is now backing Kamala Harris as we enter the final stretch of the 2024 elections. They hope that their influence will help Harris.

 

The Post Millennial reports that porn sites are running ads in swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and North Carolina promoting the “hands off My Porn Campaign” to encourage men to become single-issue voters and vote solely to protect porn use:

 

The Survey Centre on American Life reported that 44 percent and 57 percent respectively of men between the ages of 18-29, and 30-49 watched pornography within the past month.

 

The campaign’s website states boldly, “Conservatives are working hard to criminalize porn.”

 

“We must fight against this ultraconservative agenda, which is rooted in fearmongering and the suppression of women’s rights. “Don’t let them destroy my career or your right to enjoy adult-oriented entertainment,” reads a statement by director Casey Calvert.

 

Holly Randall, a pornographic actress, said: “I’ve been in the industry for 25 years, and I’ve seen many attacks on our business, but Project 2025’s ban on pornography was the most extreme proposal that I have ever heard, and voters must take this threat seriously.”

 

 

Porn addiction affects millions of people. This is especially true for men (69%) but a large number of women (40%) also watch pornography. PornHub had 2 billion visitors in just one month in 2023 according to AddictionHelp.com.

 

Porn was a big hit in Texas where, in 2023, Texas passed House Bill 1181. The website then blocked access. The bill required users to provide government-issued ID to view pornography. It was claimed that minors had easy access and that it affected brain development. PornHub claimed that minors’ brain development was not affected and that the bill would only drive traffic to less regulated platforms. Pornhub has been blocked in Texas, along with seven other sites. This includes some states that the porn industry wants to advertise, like North Carolina.

 

PornHub was heavily criticized in 2020 after a New York Times article revealed that many videos featured minors or victims of sex slavery. This forced the site to remove millions of videos uploaded by unverified users. Visa and Mastercard distanced themselves as well from PornHub to avoid any illegalities. All of this did not stop the filing of lawsuits on behalf of victims of human trafficking.

 

Porno industry has an interest in Harris because Republicans are a threat to the bottom line. Porn has less money and power the more regulations and rules are passed. It is therefore a no-brainer to try and support Harris.

 

 

This probably speaks more to Harris than Republicans. Some may argue that sites such as PornHub shouldn’t be restricted and should operate with no restrictions. However, Republicans are correct about the effects of pornography. Pornographic addiction can affect brain development, including neural pathways that are related to impulse control and reward. The dopamine receptors can be desensitized by frequent porn consumption.

 

It’s not the end of it. The sexual expectations that would be placed on minors are just beginning.

 

We do not allow children to drink alcohol or use drugs, because this is harmful or detrimental. For this reason, we card people when they buy various substances. It is not unreasonable to demand the same level of caution when it comes to something that can drastically alter the brain chemistry in individuals who consume it.

 

The porn industry hopes that Harris’ addiction will carry her through. If Harris is so desperate that she will rely on addiction to help her, then Democrats are in a very desperate situation.
