Ex-Romney Strategist Warns GOP Could ‘Burn Down’ Election Centers to Suppress Black Votes

Published on

Stuart Stevens, former strategist for Mitt Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, says Republicans may “burn down” polling stations to disenfranchise African-American voters.

During his appearance on “Chris Jansing Reports” Tuesday, Stevens warned the panel that Trump supporters might attempt to “violently disrupt” vote counting in predominantly Black cities on Election Day.

He argued that previous election disputes focused on cities with “a high percentage of African-American voters” and suggested a scenario where the Trump campaign, seeing a potential loss, might target those areas.

“And I think that what is the fear here is – put yourself in the mindset that the Trump campaign doesn’t think it can win, either the popular vote or the Electoral College. You look at this campaign. It makes no sense. He’s not trying to add voters,” Stevens said.

“What they are trying to do is win Election Night up until the inauguration. How will the states be able to certify their elections if these violently disturbed counting centers are a result of what they do? “You burn down a county center in Arizona,” he raged. “How does he certify these elections?”

What world will we be in at the end? “I think we need to be prepared for that.”

Jansing, and the rest of the panel, did not look at Stevens in awe. That tells you everything about this group. No, Republicans won’t treat election centers like leftists treated pro-life pregnancy centers after Roe v. Wade.

You’ve got to love MSNBC for referring to their guest as the former chief strategist of Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign. This allows MSNBC to promote his supposed credentials as a Republican Party insider and provide viewers with alleged evidence that his analysis is accurate.

Narrator: His analysis is not true.

It is also an exaggeration. Stevens was so unimportant in the Republican Party, that the Romney campaign did not like him. He was widely seen as the loser that helped Romney become a loser.

He is now a broken shell. Trump has beaten him so badly that the only ones who still take him seriously are MSNBC and the Lincoln Project retreads. He’s also prone to say inane things, which are red meat for leftists.

This is a very serious statement.

The same goes for comments made last September, that if Trump is elected, democracy will be destroyed and that the 2024 elections will “be [the] last election we can recognize as an American election.”

Stevens called Trump a “monster,” and said that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who challenged him in his GOP primary was “even worse than Trump.”

He described them as “a real threat to what it means to be an American.”

Totally sane.
