Joe Biden’s unprecedented pardon for his son Hunter has received a lot of negative reactions.
Esquire was perhaps the worst. We reported that they published a ridiculous piece claiming President George H.W. Bush pardoned Neil, his son, on the way to the exit, so please “shut up about Hunter Biden.”
There was one small problem. This was not true. The article was deleted because there was no pardon.
Ana Navarro, the host of “The View”, wanted to compete with Esquire’s dumbest answer. She used a similar tactic, listing previous pardons to try and justify the Hunter Biden Pardon. This is the most hilarious defense of the pardon.
Woodrow Wilson pardoned his brother-in-law, Hunter deButts.
Bill Clinton pardoned his brother, Roger.
Donald Trump pardoned his daughter’s father-in-law, Charlie Kushner. And just appointed him Ambassador to France.
But tell me again how Joe Biden “is setting precedent”? 🤣🤣

Woodrow Wilson pardoned Hunter deButts, his brother-in-law.
Bill Clinton pardoned Roger. Donald Trump pardoned Charlie Kushner, the father-in-law of his daughter.
He was appointed Ambassador to France.
But tell me again how Joe Biden “is setting a precedent”?
Roger Clinton and Charles Kushner did not receive the same pardon as Hunter Biden; instead, they received pardons for specific offenses. Kushner’s crime was already punished by his previous sentence. He didn’t get off scot-free like Hunter.
There was a second problem with what Navarro had said. “Woodrow Wilson pardoned Hunter deButts, his brother-in-law.”
Really? Well, no. Not at all. The name is indeed made up. The story in Esquire was also true, but the humor is heightened by the name of the pardon and the fact Navarro fell for it.
This says a lot about her accuracy.
She dropped an explanation, blaming ChatGPT. “Hey Twitter detectives, thank you for making the effort to provide context.” Take it up with ChatGPT” and posted laughing emoticons, not caring that it made her look worse.
Hey Twitter sleuths, thanks for taking the time to provide context. Take it up with Chat GPT…😂😂😂 https://t.co/4OfMtb09xL pic.twitter.com/TiM2CNkPDw

ChatGPT is full of mistakes and anyone being serious wouldn’t rely on that.
She was mocked into next week.
The funniest thing isn’t that ChapGPT hallucinated a Woodrow Wilson pardon. It’s that a robot spat out the name “Hunter deButts” and none of this sounded out of place to Ana Navarro, a supposed political insider and commentator. Not even a curious follow-up Google search.

This Hunter deButts thing is really one of the all-time funniest things to happen in media and on this platform in awhile. That she works for ABC News makes it even better. https://t.co/JT3QxA8lrL
