The Department of Government Efficiency is now bipartisan. Representative Jared Moskowitz, D-FL, has joined the House of Representatives DOGE Caucus.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) announced Tuesday that he will join the DOGE Caucus of the House of Representatives. He is the first Democrat to be a part of the group, which has now become bipartisan.

He advocated removing the U.S. Secret Service from the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) purview, something that was floated months ago by several Republican legislators.

Moskowitz stated in a press release that he would join the Congressional DOGE Caucus because he believes that streamlining government procedures and reducing wasteful government spending shouldn’t be a partisan matter.

It’s hard to argue with this goal. Who could not agree that streamlining government procedures and reducing wasteful government spending are good ideas? Many of Rep. Moskowitz’s Democratic colleagues will oppose DOGE’s efforts. After all, most members of this party have never opposed any government spending or expansion of bureaucracy.

One wonders if Rep. Moskowitz is going to be labeled a “Democrat In Name Only (DINO)”. Is this a thing or not? It is not unlikely that Democrats will label Moskowitz, and any other Dems joining this effort, as turncoats of the same sort as the two tame Republicans Nancy Pelosi permitted on the J6 Committee.

There is a huge difference. The J6 Committee’s purpose was to maintain the Deep State. The DOGE was created to slow it down.

Reps. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) and Aaron Bean (R-Fla.), shortly after Donald Trump’s election, announced the formation of a DOGE advisory board to be headed by Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and other experts.

“I have been very clear about the fact that we can reorganize government in a way that makes it better for Americans,” Moskowitz stated that the Department of Homeland Security has grown too large, despite its importance.

We should note that the Department of Homeland Security only exists since 2003. Before 2003, we managed without it. Why not remove it completely and rotate back the functions that were originally folded into the DHS? This seems to be a “good start.”

This idea is gaining momentum at the moment. Americans, or at least those not part of the infamous Squad or living near it, believe that Washington City would benefit from a bit — or a whole lot — of fat being removed. Some of us want to see much more. Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and others are discussing a wide-ranging axe and could even propose the elimination of entire agencies.

This would also fill in the “good start” category.

Barry Goldwater’s words are a good reminder for the DOGE and all conservatives, libertarians, and anyone who supports limited government.

I am not interested in streamlining or improving the efficiency of government, as I plan to reduce its size. I am not interested in promoting welfare. I want to expand freedom. I do not want to pass new laws but rather repeal those that already exist.

Moskowitz, let us hear you on the issue of reducing government size! Let the DOGE bite hard.
