The United States Congress as it exists today is not what the Founding Fathers intended. They intended that people would represent their state or district in Washington, D.C., for a few terms. Then, they returned home so that someone else could serve with fresh ideas and force those returning to live by the laws they had enacted. This is not happening in the present day. One Congresswoman in Texas went missing. The place she was found will make you hate the swamp more.
The fact that Kay Granger is unable to leave her nursing home to participate in the most important congressional vote of the year suggests she was already in visible decline when she ran for re-election in 2022.
A sad and humiliating way to end her political career. Sad that… https://t.co/ElXhv6wWcW

Kay Granger, R-TX, is the missing Congresswoman. She represents Texas’ 12th Congressional District which includes Fort Worth west of Dallas and Tarrant County. Granger’s most recent vote in the House was in July when she voted against HR8998. This bill would have reduced the salary of Ya-Wei Lee (Deputy Assistant Administrator for Pesticides) to $1. She has not voted since then.
A local Dallas newspaper decided to investigate the mystery. The newspaper called her Washington D.C. and district offices and received a voicemail asking for the caller’s name, phone number, and message. The reporter went to Granger’s district office and discovered it closed with no staff inside. A window on the front door was also covered. Employees of the building in which the office is located said that the office was closed before Thanksgiving. The mystery of the missing Congresswoman may make some sense at this point. Granger was retiring from Congress after the session ended. She wanted to start packing before the holidays.
Kay Granger has not been working for the past year why has she not been replaced?

Would that it were so. Then, things take an alarming turn. After she was found wandering in her neighborhood, the newspaper learned that Granger had lived at a local assisted living and memory care home for some time. Taylor Manzeil confirmed that Granger is a memory care/assisted-living home resident. She said, “This home is hers.”
Bo French is the Tarrant County Republican chairman. He said the obvious when he spoke about the importance of every Republican vote in Congress.
“The lack of representation for CD-12, to say the least, is troubling. Kay Granger has been absent from the voting booth at a time of important votes, such as those on debt ceilings, disaster relief bills, farm bills, and border issues. The margin is razor-thin in Congress and the absence of a Republican voting for CD-12 disenfranchises two million people. We deserve better.”
Granger’s constituents also worry about Granger’s absence from Washington. The biggest question, however, is why this situation has continued for so long without anyone noticing or caring.
This is another instance of Washington politicians on both sides of the aisle holding onto power until they are unable to do so. The American people made it clear in November that they were tired of this kind of behavior. Recently, my colleague reported that a Wall Street Journal article stated that Joe Biden’s mental state was worse than the Americans could see. Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority leader (R-KY), fell at a GOP lunch earlier this month. McConnell, who is 82 years old, suffered a cut to his face as well as a sprained hand. Nancy Pelosi (84), former House Speaker, fell recently and broke her hip. Sen. Dianne F. Feinstein (90) died while in office.
While in Texas, Congresswoman Granger, her staff, and taxpayers are enjoying a “vacation” until the new Congress takes office on January 3. Meanwhile, the residents of District 12 do not have representation. Americans don’t care from which side of the political aisle these Swamp stories come; they only want them to stop.
so my RINO representative Kay Granger has been in a nursing home basically since JULY with alzheimers and no1 told us constituents. office closed down, no votes in DC, etc.
my district has been unrepresented for over a month now.
they cling to power til the bitter end.
