You don’t hate legacy media enough. It may sound trite but it has been proven over and over. The latest example was Saturday after Donald Trump announced Kash Patel, his choice for FBI director.
As we pointed out on Sunday, the wailing and gnashing of teeth of people like former Trump national security advisor John Bolton and Biden National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan along with a self-righteous and bland FBI statement have been as good an endorsement as any. My colleague wrote about a quote that was retrieved from the book of former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr, in which Patel is criticized as being unqualified.
Bill Hagerty, a Republican senator from Tennessee, appeared this week on NBC News’s “Meet The Press,” immediately following Sullivan’s interview with host Kristen Welker and his remarks on Trump’s own “hand-picked FBI Director,” Christopher Wray.
You should read the way Hagerty answered and how he set up his questioning.
KRISTEN WELKER
….I’m interested in your response. Kash Patel is the new FBI director, who will replace the hand-picked FBI Director, whose tenure doesn’t end until 2027. He served in multiple roles during the first Trump administration. What will be your vote and do you believe he can get enough votes?
Sen. Bill Hagerty:
For this very reason, I have encouraged Trump to invite Kash Patel. I can understand Jake’s reluctance to speak about Kash. But I am more than willing to do so. He is the kind of change we need to see at the FBI. You should think about all the background checks that failed. Why is it that someone like Colin Kahl tweeted classified information? I went myself to the FBI. They ignored me. He was confirmed by a party-line vote in the U.S. Senate, with Kamala deciding the tie. This person who shouldn’t even have a security clearance now holds the third most powerful position in DOD. You have Rob Malley. I don’t understand how he passed an FBI background check. He is now being investigated. His connections to the Iranian influence system that worked for and with him. Ariane Tabatabai who is still employed by the DOD should not have passed a background check with the FBI. This whole agency must be cleaned up. It is not doing its work. If you take a look at the politicization that occurred in 2016, senior FBI leaders conspired together to keep President Trump from being elected, and then, when he was elected, they created this fake Russia-gate probe that hampered the Trump administration for many years. Take a look at 2020. You know the fake Hunter Biden tale that the FBI leadership and big tech worked together to censor the Hunter Biden Laptop that allowed President Biden to fool the American Public and come to office. The FBI has serious problems. The American public is aware of this. Kash Patel is the right person to bring about sweeping changes.
It appears that Democrats and their media emissaries have chosen the Barr book excerpt to be used as a weapon against any Republican who dared to support Trump’s Cabinet endorsements. Welker did exactly that here by asking Barr if he disagreed with Barr’s stance on Patel.
Hagerty stated that he would “support this appointment”, stating that Kash is highly qualified and has already proven he was the right choice by “uncovering what happened to the American public with Russia-gate”.
Sen. @BillHagertyTN: “I’m going to support this appointment. Kash has worked in national security. He’s worked at the Department of Justice and he’s somebody that has been willing to uncover the wrongs of the FBI.” pic.twitter.com/uTE7JWis8y

He didn’t stop there. During the Biden Administration, he called out a number of rogues, both at the FBI and State, who were able to maintain security clearances in spite of their criminal activities.
You should ask the Biden administration to examine itself. What are Tony Blinken’s qualifications to be secretary of state? He organized 51 so-called experts in intelligence to create a fake letter claiming that the Hunter Biden Laptop was Russian disinformation. This must have made him eligible to be secretary. The President has the right to name his nominees. This is what he does, and I will support his appointment. Kash worked in national security. He worked for the Department of Justice and was willing to expose the FBI’s wrongdoings. He was the one who revealed to the American public the truth about Russia-gate. He is the only one who can see the truth here.
It is the only way to win over the hostile media. Do not give an inch.
