The obsession of the press with January 6th has continued apace, despite the complete rejection they received at the polls in November. The hand-wringing only grew after President Donald Trump pardoned most participants. Many of them were unfairly charged for crimes they never should have been accused of, and in a court jurisdiction which ensured the game was rigged.
Americans no longer care about January 6th, as I said just after Trump won against Kamala. The American people have moved on from January 6th to other issues that affect them every day.
It is important to note that nobody cares. Americans want to have cheaper groceries and be able to buy a home. The left-wingers of Washington don’t get their well-being ahead of the virtue-signaling. It shouldn’t surprise anyone, but it does for the media and Democrat politicians.
No one has ever said that mainstream journalists are perceptive, even though this is obvious to the majority of people. This brings me to an encounter Marjorie Taylor Greene was having with a reporter who had been hounding about the 6th of January.
Ignore whether or not you like Rep. Greene. I can’t fault people for feeling that she has been outspoken at times. But what she says is important to everyone because it is bigger than her.
REPORTER (inaudible but she is asking if Taylor Greene gives tours to pardoned participants of the January 6th)
GREENE: Are you only going to talk about the J6ers who got pardoned, or is there more? Are you going to discuss the Biden family? No?
REPORTER: “I haven’t…”
GREENE: What about all the murderers, killers, and rapists that Joe Biden has pardoned and pardoned and pardoned and pardoned and pardoned and rehabilitated? They are in abundance. Does that focus exist at all?
REPORTER: I want to know about January 6th.
(Crosstalk)
GREENE: Yes, I understand what you are asking and I am not doing it. It’s absurd that you all are so obsessed with the 6th of January. Everyone outside is sick of this * mania. Joe Biden pardons these murderers, rapists, and disgusting individuals, but then everyone up here is wringing their pants because J6ers were pardoned. People who walked into open doors. A lot of people walked into open doors. That’s it. Everyone up here is saying, “Ah J6!”
Pause for a second to take note of the question. The first thing this reporter thought of the 6th January was not whether or not some people deserved to be pardoned. The question is not whether the Department of Justice targeted certain people unfairly with charges that they would never have brought in other situations. The court system, and several judges, did not make it clear that anyone would be allowed to mount an actual defense. This reporter is worried that Taylor Greene may give pardoned individuals a “tour of the Capitol”.
There’s no evidence that the congresswoman planned to do this. This reporter is pushing the debunked conspiracy that Republicans were giving “tours’ to those who took part in the January 6th riots before they broke out. The presumption is that these people were somehow involved.
Greene explains colorfully that people are tired of all this. Four years have passed since January 6, 2016. It’s no longer an issue in American society, and if the voters still cared, they would not have reelected Donald Trump.
You’ve spoken so openly about the January 6ers.
GREENE: I did, but now they are pardoned. Thank God. I hope they can go on with their lives, and reassemble themselves because they have suffered too much. Do a story about all the Antifa members and BLM activists who never served their time. Over 95 percent. Seriously. Do a story about these cities, which BLM has burned down and never rebuilt. ActBlue raised all the money, but they never rebuilt those communities.
REPORTER: Do you think it is a fair question since you have been so outspoken?
GREENE: I’m sure I am. It is nauseating. I’ve watched all the Democrat networks ad nauseam talk about January 6th. They just can’t seem to get over themselves, but they don’t care about real Americans.
REPORTER: It’s not as if Republicans don’t talk about it. The Speaker created a special committee to investigate the events of January 6.
GREENE: It was your question. Are you planning to invite J6ers in? “Are you going to take them on a tour?” You people are so annoying and I hate it.
REPORTER: I’m asking because I know that others have asked the same question and I presume that you will be on the tour as well, since you are close to a few of the people.
GREENE: Because you’re assuming. You see, you never gave me an honest chance to begin with. And you made all of these assumptions and headlines and told all of these lies. You asked me why I didn’t do a piece on the issues that people cared about. The border, the economy, and energy are important to people. Foreign wars are a bore. They are tired of all the hypocrisy and hate the media. It’s true, I am serious. You’ve created a situation in which you are not trusted, and people have grown tired of y’all. It’s sad. I’m serious, it’s sad.
REPORTER: Well…
GREENE: I am not answering this question.
What else would you like to add? Greene spoke for many people in the room. The country faces real challenges. Press outlets that continue to shout “January 6th!” every sentence will not solve any of these problems. The legacy media’s lowest ratings for trust and approval in history are because they continue to do this. These people are no longer believed to be sincere. These people are seen as dishonest activists, and that is exactly what they are.
