According to reports, the suspects in both the New Orleans terror attacks and the Wednesday Las Vegas Tesla Cybertruck blast served at the same base.
Authorities are investigating both the New Orleans and Las Vegas incidents as possible acts of terror.
Denver 7 reported the two suspects on Thursday:
Matthew Livelsberger, who is accused of renting and driving a Cybertruck from Colorado Springs to Nevada, then loading it with gas cans and firework mortars, before blowing it up in front of Trump International Hotel, Vegas, on Wednesday, killing himself and causing seven other injuries. Shamsuddin Jabbar, a suspect in the attack on the French Quarter New Year’s celebrations that killed at least 15 people and injured dozens of others is suspected of driving through a crowd in the French Quarter.
The outlet reported that the men had served in the Army, and added, “Last Wednesday, several informed sources informed Denver7 Chief Investigator Tony Kovaleski about the connection between the two suspects’ military service.”
Kovaleski posted a message on social media Thursday.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed on Wednesday that Jabbar had an Islamic State flag (ISIS) in his vehicle at the time of the horrifying incident.
The FBI stated that it “is working to determine the subject’s potential affiliations and associations with terrorist organizations.”
The vehicle of the subject contained weapons and a possible IED. The agency also reported that other potential IEDs had been located in the French Quarter. The FBI’s bomb technicians work with law enforcement to determine whether these devices are still viable and will take steps to make them safe.
