Donald Trump said Wednesday that he loved the Russian people and, because he had “no choice” but to enforce sanctions if the war wasn’t over yet, he was willing to do Russia and its President Vladimir Putin a favor by allowing the war to end before any measures were taken.
Trump stated on Truth Social, “We can do it either the easy or hard way – and the easier way is always better.” It’s time to “MAKE A DEAL”. “No more lives should be lost !!!”
Trump said that by allowing Russia to “settle” now and “STOP THIS RIDICULOUS WAR!” he is doing Putin and Russia a “very BIG FAVOR!”
He said, “IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.” “If we do not make a deal soon, I will have to impose high taxes, tariffs, and sanctions on any products that Russia sells to the United States and other countries participating in this agreement.”
He said he had “always enjoyed a good relationship with Putin”, even when it came to the “Radical Left’s Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX.”
Trump also said that it was important to remember that Russia played a role in winning World War II and that “almost 60,000,000 lives were lost.”
According to the National World War II Museum, the Soviet Union suffered 24,000,000 military and civil losses during the war.
Trump has also repeated his claim that if he remained in power, the war would “never have begun”.
He made the post after saying Tuesday that he would likely sanction Russia for refusing to negotiate to end the Ukraine War.
The Biden administration imposed sanctions on Russia following its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. These included sanctions on the oil and energy sector earlier this month.
Trump told reporters on Tuesday that he had told Chinese President Xi Jinping in a recent telephone call that Beijing must help end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
