EPA Shuts Down $20 Billion in Biden Green Energy Grants, Zeldin Reveals

Lee Zeldin, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), announced on Tuesday that it has terminated grants totaling $20 billion awarded to climate and clean energy projects by Biden’s administration.

In a video posted on X by Zeldin, he said that $20 billion of U.S. taxpayer dollars had been “parked” at a financial institution outside the government’s control in a deliberate attempt to reduce oversight. The money was then distributed through eight pass-through NGOs, which were politically connected but unqualified and, in some cases, brand new.

He said that money had been frozen since, and the FBI and Department of Justice are conducting an investigation.

The Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, as approved by Congress under the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, was previously known as the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, but it is now more commonly called the Green Bank. The two initiatives were worth a total of $14 billion each and aimed at offering grants to non-profits, banks for community development, and other organizations to support projects that benefited disadvantaged areas.

The eight nonprofits that were awarded the money included the Coalition for Green Capital, Climate United Fund, Power Forward Communities, Opportunity Finance Network, Inclusiv, and the Justice Climate Fund. These organizations have partnered with various groups, including Rewiring America, Habitat for Humanity, and the Community Preservation Corporation.

The EPA has “just notified eight recipients of $20 BILLION worth of Biden EPA gold bars’, that their grants were TERMINATED!” Zeldin posted on X.

Zeldin cited in his video reports that Power Forward Communities – a group affiliated with Democrat Stacey Abrams – received 2 billion dollars after reporting only $100 of revenue for the previous year.

The founding director, who was a member of the White House at the time, also claimed to have allocated 5 billion dollars to his former employer.

Zeldin stated that “these two examples were only the tip of the Iceberg.” “I am here to inform the American public that I’ve officially ended these grant agreements as of today. The EPA has full authority to do this, and frankly, we had no choice.

He continued, “This termination was based on significant concerns about program integrity, objections to the awarding process, fraud programmatic, waste and misuse, and misalignment of priorities with the Agency’s, all which undermine fundamental goals and the statutory objectives for the awards.”

Zeldin stated that the only way to eliminate waste, improve oversight, and comply with the intention of the law is to terminate the grant. Zeldin said that he was “unwaveringly committed” to President Donald Trump and Congress, as well as the American public.

The EPA is once again going to be a great steward for your taxes. Zeldin stated that he would not have it any other way.
