Gov. Noem to Tour Notorious El Salvador Prison Housing Deported Criminals

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem plans to travel next week to several places in Central America – such as El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center where hundreds of criminal migrants were famously deported last week.

Tricia McLaughlin, DHS’ Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs and spokesperson for the DHS Department said on Sunday that Noem’s visit “underscores how important it is to have our partners help us remove violent criminals and illegal aliens in the United States.”

McLaughlin stated that “President Trump, Secretary Noem, and the Department of Homeland Security have sent a very clear message to criminal aliens who are considering illegal entry into America: Don’t think about it. If you break our laws and come to America, we’ll hunt you down and put you in jail.”

Noem’s visit will kick off with a stop at the Terrorist Confinement Center on Mar. 26, which she will tour with the Salvadoran Minister of Justice, Héctor Gustavo Villatoro. The Trump administration official will meet with President Nayib Bukele later that day.

Noem plans to visit Colombia on Mar. Noem will visit Colombia on March 27 to meet President Gustavo Petro, and the Colombian National Police’s (CNP) specialized unit aimed at combating organized crime. On March 28, the former South Dakota Governor will conclude her journey in Mexico. She will meet with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on March 28.

This visit comes a full week after El Salvador made public gritty video footage showing hundreds of illegal immigrants being rounded up and deported into prison cells at the weekend. The video showed alleged gang leaders with their heads in their hands as Salvadoran authorities, heavily armed, surrounded and moved them one-by-one into jail cells.

A senior Trump Administration official said that 261 illegal immigrants were sent to El Salvador in March. 15. Most of them were expelled under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. allows the expulsion of natives or citizens of an enemy country without hearing.

101 of the migrants were Venezuelans removed via Title 8, while 21 others were Salvadoran MS-13 gang members, the official added. Two were MS-13 ringleaders and “special cases” for El Salvador.

These removed individuals were convicted of crimes such as aggravated attack, robbery, and kidnapping. They also committed sexual abuse against a minor, engaged in prostitution, or assaulted a policeman.

Bukele wrote, as an ally of Trump, that deportation flights would help Salvadoran authorities to “finalize our intelligence gathering” and pursue the remaining remnants of MS-13. This includes its new and former members, money and weapons, drugs, and hideouts.

He added, “We continue to advance in our fight against organized criminality as always.” This time we also help our allies and make our prisons self-sustaining, as well as gaining vital intelligence that will make our country even safer. In a single act. “May God bless El Salvador and the United States.”

In a post published onTruth Social on March 16, President Donald Trump said that the U.S. would “not forget” Bukele’s partnership and expressed gratitude to the leader “for his understanding of this terrible situation which has been allowed to occur to the United States due to incompetent Democrat Leadership.”

Trump said: “These are the scumbags Joe Biden sent to our Country, along with the radical left Democrats. How dare them!”
