House minority leader Hakeem Jeffreys, D-N.Y., said that fellow House member Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) “ain’t throwing anyone off any single Committee” after the Tennessee legislator said Democrats who derail Thursday’s vote on censure should be removed.
On Thursday, the House decided to censure Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) over his outbursts at President Donald Trump’s joint address before Congress on Tuesday. The House was thrown into chaos when ten Democrats joined Republicans in voting to censure Green. Most House Democrats sang “We Shall Overcome” with Green.
After failing to gain control, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) was forced to take the House out of session.

Ogles then filed a motion requesting that Democrats involved in the protests be removed from their committee positions. Jeffries stated the move “is not going anywhere.”
Jeffries said he learned of Ogles’ resolution after ending a phone call with New York Attorney General Letitia James.
“That resolution is going nowhere. You ain’t throwing anyone off of any single committee. These people are malignant clowns,” the leading Democrat said in a video on X. “Andy Ogles is a fraud. A complete and total fraud. You aren’t throwing anyone off of any committee in the House of Representatives. Don’t make me expose you to folks who don’t know you.”
Ogles said in an interview on Thursday, “All Democrats who refused to obey the Speaker and remained at the bottom of the well should be removed from their respective committees.”
The Speaker also stated that while the members can “lick their injuries” and “act as children” in other places, “they must behave on the House Floor.”
He said, “We may disagree about issues or politics, but I am tired of all this crap.”
