Tuesday, there were allegations that a Secret Service Agent had been retaliated against by his command chain because he was assigned to the granddaughter of then-President Biden. Was it an infraction? It was a refusal to drive for a friend as an “Uber Driver”.
There’s a lot in the X post; here are some key points.
Find out why Secret Service agents feel relieved they don’t need to protect Hunter Biden and Ashley Biden and at least five of Biden’s grandchildren.
An agent claimed that USSS officials had retaliated against him severely in part because he adhered to agency policy and refused to become an “Uber service” for one of Biden’s granddaughters.
The reason why Biden’s grandchildren were given Secret Service details is not clear.
The Secret Service agent drove Maisy Biden and her friends back home after a late night of dancing. Maisy Biden, at 21 years of age, was of legal drinking age. Whether alcohol or drugs were involved is not clear.
The incident is described in a Secret Service agent’s legal complaint against the agency but only describes Maisy by her code name, “Cowboy.”
A friend of Maisy Biden insisted the agent make a detour and stop somewhere else.
The Secret Service does not have to accommodate the friends of the granddaughter of a president. An angry Secret Service agent told her friend to stop asking for service. He said, as previously mentioned, that the United States Secret Service was not there to be her chauffeur.
The situation became bizarre after the event.
The USSS agent who claimed to have followed USSS policy was forced to submit an incident report. He claims his superior ordered him not to include any details that might reflect negatively on Maisy, her friends, or the USSS.
In the lawsuit, the agent claims that he was retaliated against (including being passed over repeatedly for promotions) because he refused to drive Maisy’s friends to their destinations.
This was clearly an abuse of power.
There are no allegations that the Biden administration or the Biden family was involved in this retaliation against the agent. That might be difficult to prove. But think on it for a moment; the issue had to come to the attention of the agent’s superior somehow. Where else could that information have been initiated – other than Maisy Biden?
Maisy’s grandfather ran for president and was (ahem) elected, but she wasn’t. The American taxpayers should not be expected to provide car and security services for Biden’s granddaughter.
Given that choice, I’ll err on the side of the taxpayers every time. And, yes, I would say that regardless of the political parties of the persons involved.
