In a Wednesday post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump sent a strong warning to Hamas and demanded that the terrorist organization release all of its hostages.
This post was written after Trump had met with 7 former Hamas Hostages who travelled to Washington, D.C., in this past week. According to the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, this group consisted of Eli Sharabi and Doron Steinbrecher as well as Keith Siegel and Aviva Siegel.
“‘Shalom Hamas’ means Hello and Goodbye – You can choose,” the president’s post began. “Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you.
“Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted!”
Trump said that he was “sending Israel all the tools it needs” to complete its mission and that “not one single Hamas member will be safe if you do not follow my instructions.”
Trump continued, “I just met your former hostages whose lives were destroyed by you. This is your final warning. Now is the best time for the leaders to get out of Gaza while they still have the chance.”
“Also, to the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!”
Trump posted his message hours after senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy at Fox News questioned the White House on its decision to negotiate with the Palestinian terrorist organization.
Why is the U.S. negotiating with Hamas directly for the very first time? Doocy pointed out.
“Well, when it comes to the negotiations that you’re referring to, first of all, the special envoy who’s engaged in these negotiations does have the authority to talk to anyone,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded.
Leavitt said that Israel “was consulted about this issue” and that Trump is committed to “making good-faith efforts[s] to do the right thing for American citizens.”
“These are ongoing talks and discussions. I’m not going to detail them here,” she continued. “There are American lives at stake.”
