On Wednesday, President Donald Trump repeated his position on the “The Vince Show” that Greenland is a vital part of international security and should be controlled by the United States.
Trump said, “Vice President J.D. Vance will be joining a Greenland delegation this week. The mission is to let them know that Greenland is essential for international security and safety. We need it. We have to have this…and we will have it.”
When asked if Greenlanders are “eager to become U.S. Citizens”, Trump replied that he did not know.

He said: “I think we must do it. We have to convince the people, and we need that land because, without it, it’s impossible to defend a large part of the World. Not just the United States. So, we must have it, and I believe we will get it.”
Trump angered many in Europe when he suggested that the United States control the mineral-rich, self-governing territory of Denmark. Denmark is a NATO member and a U.S. ally. Greenland is a strategic location because it’s the gateway to North America and the Arctic. China and Russia are interested in its natural resources and waterways.
