Kid Rock has arranged a meeting between Bill Maher and Donald Trump.
Maher, who has been a Trump critic for years, let his Trump Derangement Syndrome get in the way of his ability to “get it” sometimes. Maher said that he thought the meeting might be a way to heal the nation’s divide if the participants reached out and showed how it is done. Of course, Trump has proven that he is willing to talk and reach out to anyone, including Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
The President confirmed this in his usual humorous manner.
Trump said:
Kid Rock called me and asked if it was possible to meet Bill Maher in the White House. Bill Maher is a man who has unjustifiably criticized anything and anyone. Trump said, “I didn’t really like the idea, and still don’t, but I thought it might be interesting.”
It was then that I found the funny part.
The problem is, no matter how much he likes your favorite president—ME—he’ll still publicly claim I’m a terrible guy, much like the Democrats did during my recent Address to the Joint Session of Congress. I pointed out, correctly, that no matter what I said or did, they wouldn’t stand, applaud, smile, or even pretend to be nice. Who knows—maybe I’ll be proven wrong this time? Either way, I’m doing a favor for a friend. I’m looking forward to meeting with Bill Maher, Kid Rock, and possibly even the legendary Dana White. It could be fun… or maybe not. But don’t worry—you’ll be the first to know!

Maher might have some difficulty in admitting it publicly, so he may be playing the game. If they do get along, then it will be a bonus. Trump covers all his bets.
Maher is recognizing Trump’s power, something he was unable to do before. He has to face the unmovable object. Trump’s ability to do this after what Maher said about him shows that he wants to be a “unifier”, even with someone who is very hostile. It would be great if Trump could open Maher’s mind a bit more.
It should be a great time, especially with the other guys as fun and helpful intercessors. I don’t know if they’re going to be recording it, but you know it’s going to be interesting.
