Turning Point USA, a conservative group, has accused violent protesters of destroying a display they erected on the U.C. Davis Campus, Northern California. The group posted a video of the campus incident.

TP USA also accuses the UC Davis campus officers of doing nothing about the attack despite being only a few yards away. “TPUSA students had objects thrown and were shoved while police did nothing.”

Turning Point posted a separate video showing a student being struck over the head by a sign a protester had grabbed and used to attack him. The conservative group stated that the violent protesters destroyed their ‘Prove Me Wrong’ tabling event at UC Davis. The protesters ripped down the banners and foam boards and tried to steal an iPad and laptop from a field representative for @tpusastudents. “This is the reality of free speech on campus.”

TP USA has not reported any serious injuries to its supporters. This comment was posted by the campus news office of UC Davis about the disruption. The university protected free speech rights for the campus community during the entire event.

UC Davis Chancellor Gary S. May stated that the investigation of the attack is still being reviewed. It is unclear whether the masked attackers are outside agitators or university employees. No matter their affiliation, we will take all necessary steps to hold the responsible parties accountable.
