According to police, an author who is married to a Weezer band member was arrested for attempted murder after pointing her gun at officers pursuing a suspect involved in a hit-and-run near her Los Angeles residence.

Jillian Shriner, also known as Jillian Lauren, was shot by police officers during the incident. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the gunshot wound is not considered life-threatening.

She is married to Weezer bassist Scott Shriner.

The incident took place during a police manhunt after a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Three suspects were involved. One of the suspects was last seen at the rear of a home.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the LAPD reported that “while the officers were standing behind the residence, they observed Jillian Shrineer (51 years of age) in another home’s yard armed with a handgun.” The officers ordered Shriner to repeatedly put her gun down, but she refused.

Police fired at Shriner after she allegedly pointed her handgun at the officers, striking her, the LAPD said. Detectives initially said following the incident that it was unclear if she fired at the officers. However, LAPD sources stated on Thursday that they have since found evidence, including a shell casing and video footage, that they believe showed she fired her weapon once at officers.

According to police, Shriner entered her home but shortly came out with another woman and a child. She was taken to the hospital and booked into custody.

She was absentee booked for attempted murder, police said.

According to police, a 9mm pistol was discovered at her home.

The police said that there were no injuries to officers or members of the public.

According to the California Highway Patrol, one of the three males involved in the incident was detained, but the other two were not located.

The police said that they are still investigating the incident involving an officer.

Shriner is scheduled to appear in court on April 30th, after posting a $1M bond.

Shriner, who writes under the name Jillian Lauren, is the author of several books, including the true crime nonfiction Behold the Monster: Confronting America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer, based on her interviews with convicted murderer Samuel Little. She has also written two memoirs — Some Girls: My Life in a Harem and Everything You Ever Wanted.
