Donald Trump announced that his administration will act quickly to help Nvidia with its 500 billion dollar U.S. Investment.
On Tuesday morning, Trump said, “All permits necessary will be expedited” and delivered quickly to help the company make its investment.”
“NVIDIA COMMITS 500 BILLION DOLLARS TO BUILD A.I. SUPERCOMPUTERS, PLUS, IN THE UNITED STATES, EXCLUSIVELY. This is very big and exciting news,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“NVIDIA will receive permits quickly and efficiently, as they will to all companies committing to be part of the Golden Age of America!”
Nvidia announced Monday that it intends to manufacture artificially intelligent supercomputer chips at the highest level in the United States.
According to a Silicon Valley company, Supercomputer plants will be built in Texas in partnership with Foxconn, Wistron, and other companies. Manufacturing is expected to grow in the next 12-15 months.
Nvidia announced that the TSMC Arizona plant had already begun production of Nvidia Blackwell – the most advanced graphics processor unit (GPU).
In a blog post on Monday, the White House described Nvidia’s announcement as the “Trump Effect at Work”.
According to the blog, “President Donald J. Trump made U.S. Chip Manufacturing a priority in pursuit of an American Manufacturing Renaissance. This is paying off, with new investments of trillions in the tech industry alone. ”
“Earlier this year, President Trump announced a $500 billion private investment in AI infrastructure led by OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank, while Apple announced a $500 billion investment and TSMC announced a $100 billion investment in chips manufacturing”
According to Newsweek, the Trump administration says tariff exemptions for electronics like smartphones and laptops will only be temporary until officials come up with a new strategy to deal with tariffs that are specific to semiconductors.
Trump wants his tariffs, in part, to create more jobs and grow the economy by persuading companies to produce their goods within the U.S.
