The U.S. Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against Uber Technologies on Monday, accusing the company of signing up Uber One subscribers without their consent and falsely advertising its service.
The service is $9.99 per month and includes discounts on Uber’s food delivery and ride-hailing apps.

Uber falsely advertised that customers would save $25 per month by using the service, and misled them about how simple it was to cancel.
Andrew Ferguson, FTC chairman, said: “Americans are sick of being signed up for subscriptions they don’t want and can’t cancel.” “The Trump-Vance FTC fights back for the American people.”
