Deadly New Jersey House Explosion Deemed ‘Not Accidental’ in Ongoing Probe

The explosion that rocked a quiet New Jersey neighborhood in Washington Township over the weekend, killing two, was ‘not accidental’ according to authorities. Far from a random occurrence, this tragic event is now under intense scrutiny as a potential crime scene.

The blast occurred early Sunday, and the locals have described it as echoing like a bomb detonating. The Washington Township Police, in their Monday statement, have confirmed an “ongoing criminal investigation”, reinforcing that this was not a mere accident.

The victims, a man and a woman whose identities haven’t been released yet, were found in the rubble of their obliterated home. The Gloucester County prosecutor’s office, while calling the deaths “suspicious,” has kept mum on the details.

The explosion was reported at 2:02 a.m., prompting a flurry of 911 calls from neighbors who were jolted awake by the noise. The residence was discovered fully engulfed in flames, bearing evident signs of a massive explosion.

Firefighters from the Washington Township Fire Department arrived shortly after the police and managed to extinguish the fire. Now, they’re working hand in hand with the police department, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, and the New Jersey Fire Marshal’s Office to get to the bottom of this mystery.

The neighbors, understandably shaken, have painted a terrifying picture of the incident. “It was a real loud boom. I said, ‘Something’s wrong,'” said Jimmy Gibson, a local resident. “The whole house was in flames… as soon as the explosion happened.”

Footage from the scene reveals the extent of the devastation, including damage to neighboring homes and a car that seemed to have been caught in the blast. This is no everyday accident. This is something far more sinister. We’ll continue to follow this story, as we should, and I urge you to do the same.
