Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth found himself in the hot seat during the most recent Senate budget hearing, with even some supposed conservatives turning their backs on him.
“America’s reputation is on the line,” Mitch McConnell, former Senate Majority Leader and friend of the swamp, barked at Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Gen. Dan ‘Raisin’ Caine. McConnell, mind you, is one of the three Republicans who played Judas when it came to Hegseth’s nomination. Now, he’s the puppet master controlling the Defense budget. And McConnell isn’t exactly acting in the best interest of the American people here.
McConnell, along with his band of obstructionist Democrats, is making a stink over the One Big Beautiful Bill Act’s spending levels and debt limit increases. It’s just another ploy to undermine President Trump and his legislative victories. But remember, folks, this is the same McConnell who couldn’t muster the courage to stand up to the left and defend our democratic allies.

McConnell paints a grim picture of a future headline: “Russia wins, America loses.” But what he fails to admit is this: “Russia is the aggressor,” Hegseth rightly pointed out. Trump, unlike the previous administration, isn’t playing footsie with Putin. No, he’s committed to peace through strength. And trust me, Putin knows a strong leader when he sees one.
The criticism didn’t stop there. Even the liberals are getting in on the action. Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., wants to funnel our Defense spending to Ukraine and not our military. He’s more concerned with foreign interests than American ones. But don’t doubt me on this, folks – Hegseth hit back, arguing for America FIRST. He knows that funding both Ukraine and our military is a recipe for endless war and financial disaster.
The left and a few misguided Republicans are creating unnecessary drama while Trump and true conservatives are putting America first.
