The House just passed the first wave of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts, and it was a nail-biter – a 214-212 margin. With half my brain tied behind my back, I can tell you that the Republicans, our team, managed to gather enough votes to solidify a whopping $9.4 billion in spending cuts. And the mainstream media couldn’t believe it.
President Trump, ever the motivator, was rallying his troops, urging them to get this passed. He says, “The House of Representatives is NOW voting on my Administration’s first ‘Rescissions Bill’. The Rescissions Bill is a NO BRAINER, and every single Republican in Congress should vote, ‘YES.'” And can you blame him? Of course, it’s a no-brainer!
The GOP leadership, despite tracking seven potential no votes from their ranks, pushed forward. And guess what happened? They did it, folks. They did it by two votes. The drive-by media won’t tell you this part, but among the cuts was more than $1 billion that had been allocated for PBS and NPR through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
One GOP member admitted, “A lot of these public television networks are kind of the backbone infrastructure for a lot of rural Western states. So, there’s more to it than just ‘Frontline’ and ‘PBS NewsHour’.” It’s not just about cutting ‘Frontline’ and ‘PBS NewsHour,’ it’s about reining in the rampant spending and inefficiencies in our government.
This is the real deal in our fight for fiscal responsibility and the triumph of conservative ideals.
