The Department of Justice is finally taking a stand against criminal aliens.

The DOJ has released a memo that will revoke citizenship from Americans who have committed certain crimes. Now, I can hear the liberals screaming already, “How can they do that!?” It’s simple, my friends. If your citizenship was obtained illegally or through willful misrepresentation, the DOJ is coming for you.

This memo specifically targets 25 million U.S. citizens who were born abroad and subsequently immigrated to the country. It lays out 10 categories for denaturalization, including national security violations and acts of fraud, and these are not minor offenses.

The move gives U.S. attorneys a wider berth to decide when to pursue this tactic. The liberals are crying foul, but let me ask you this, folks: do you want people who have committed serious crimes to keep their American citizenship? Of course not! This isn’t about punishing immigrants; this is about protecting American citizens!

The Heritage Foundation’s Hans von Spakovsky hit the nail on the head. He couldn’t understand how anyone could be opposed to the DOJ protecting the country “from obvious predators, criminals, and terrorists.” Yet, we all know the liberal elites are wringing their hands over this.

Make no mistake about it, this is just the beginning. This is about upholding the law and preserving the integrity of American citizenship.
