A general aviation aircraft entered restricted airspace over President Trump’s golf club in Bedminster today, prompting military intervention.
At approximately 2:39 PM Eastern Time, an F-16 fighter jet intercepted the civilian aircraft. This marks the fifth such incursion into the temporary flight restriction zone on Saturday alone.
According to reliable sources at the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, the F-16 performed what’s known as a “headbutt maneuver” to alert the civilian pilot. The aircraft was then safely escorted out of the restricted area.
The significance of this incident becomes clear when we consider the recent pattern of airspace violations. NORAD reports multiple similar occurrences in recent weeks, raising important questions about air traffic control and pilot awareness in the region.
We should note that NORAD is urging general aviation pilots to review all notifications before takeoff thoroughly. The White House has not yet stated on today’s event.
This situation underscores the ongoing challenges of balancing security measures with civilian air traffic. As always, we will continue to monitor developments and bring you the most accurate information available.
