Mississippi Dispatches 200 National Guardsmen to Defend D.C.

Mississippi has deployed 200 members of the National Guard to Washington, D.C., in response to a federal initiative aimed at tackling crime and homelessness, according to a statement from Governor Tate Reeves.

South Carolina, West Virginia, and Ohio are also preparing to deploy National Guard units. This follows President Trump’s executive order last week, which demanded the mobilization of 800 D.C. However, this arrangement ended after judicial intervention urged both parties to negotiate a settlement.
