US Government Drags Its Feet as UFO Reports Pile Up

Unidentified flying objects, also known as UFOs, or more recently, UAPs, for unidentified anomalous phenomena, continue to pique public interest. However, the response from the US government and Congress to these occurrences is perceived as slow or absent.

Rep. Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee, proposed legislation this past February to open access to potential information that the government may already possess. This bill, which was referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, would mandate the release of federal records related to UAPs, barring limited redactions. Yet, no major action has been taken on this bill thus far.

While some Congress members have shared personal experiences, it appears these testimonies have not sufficiently influenced the government to disclose what many suspect to be a wealth of information. Former Navy pilot Ryan Graves, who testified before Congress regarding his encounters with UFOs exhibiting extraordinary flight capabilities, now heads an aerospace safety organization known as Americans for Safe Aerospace. Reports indicate that Graves’ organization continues to receive new UAP reports. “In the last year,” Graves states, “Americans for Safe Aerospace has received 800+ reports from aviators, radar operators, and trained civilian observers.”

The significance becomes clear when we consider the release of videos by the government, featuring Navy jets encountering objects with incredible flight capabilities. While these releases have fueled headlines and speculation, the government has yet to respond meaningfully about the possible underlying intelligence that may be locked away in classified files.

It remains to be seen whether further action will be taken to increase governmental transparency around unidentified aerial phenomena. This is a rapidly evolving field, and we owe it to ourselves and our democratic institutions to seek the truth.
