Yulia Navalnaya, widow of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, has come forward with new claims regarding her husband’s death in a remote Arctic prison on February 16, 2024.
According to Yulia Navalnaya, foreign laboratory tests conducted on biological samples from Alexei Navalny indicate the presence of poison. She states that material was covertly transported out of Russia for analysis by two separate laboratories in different countries.
Yulia Navalnaya asserts that both laboratories reached the same conclusion: that Alexei Navalny was killed by poisoning. However, she has not disclosed the specific toxin allegedly identified, nor has she named the laboratories involved.
This development follows earlier reports that Russian investigators attributed Navalny’s death to “a combination of diseases.” Yulia Navalnaya has consistently rejected this explanation, accusing the Russian government of responsibility for her husband’s demise—a claim the Kremlin categorically denies.
However, it’s important to note that U.S. intelligence agencies, according to reports from the Associated Press and The Wall Street Journal, have determined that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not order Navalny’s death.
