Democratic Recruit for Texas House Seat Caught Deleting Evidence of Vulgar Trump Protest

Let’s get straight to the facts here. Bobby Pulido, a Tejano musician who has decided to trade his microphone for a congressional seat, is now desperately scrubbing his social media history after a video resurfaced showing him urinating on President Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star. This is the same Bobby Pulido who is currently marketing himself as a “bipartisan” candidate in Texas’ 15th congressional district.

The cognitive dissonance is staggering.

Pulido, who won Latin Grammy Awards for Best Tejano Album in 2022 and 2025, filmed himself defacing Trump’s star nearly a decade ago, posting it to Instagram with the caption “when you gotta go, you gotta go.” Charming. This is apparently what passes for political discourse on the left these days.

Now, Pulido is challenging Republican Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a two-term incumbent who won her last election with a commanding 57.1% of the vote. De La Cruz represents a district that has been trending Republican, part of a broader shift in South Texas that has Democrats panicking. Hence their recruitment of Pulido, who they apparently believe can win back Hispanic voters who have been fleeing the Democratic Party in droves.

Here is where the story gets even more instructive about Democratic strategy. Pulido announced his candidacy in 2024, positioning himself as neither “team red or team blue” but rather “team you.” He claims he wants to bring people together, having spent “decades using my voice to bring people together.” Except, of course, when he was literally urinating on the star of the man who would become president and who won significant support from South Texas voters in subsequent elections.

The hypocrisy is not subtle.

Democrats heavily recruited Pulido for this race, which tells you everything you need to know about their desperation in South Texas. They needed someone with name recognition who could potentially peel off voters who have been gravitating toward Republicans. What they got was a candidate with significant baggage that directly contradicts his campaign messaging.

According to Federal Election Commission filings, Pulido has raised $306,000 this cycle. That is a respectable haul for a first-time candidate, suggesting Democratic donors are taking this race seriously. But money cannot erase video evidence of crude political stunts.

Since launching his campaign, Pulido has been busy deleting his more “combative” mentions of Trump from his social media accounts. Even Univision, which originally covered the video, has scrubbed the story from its website, though archived snapshots still exist. This coordinated memory-holing effort raises obvious questions about what else Pulido and his Democratic allies are trying to hide from voters.

The broader pattern here is clear. Democrats consistently engage in the most vicious, crude, and sometimes violent rhetoric against Republicans, then turn around and lecture conservatives about civility and unity. Pulido’s campaign is simply the latest example of this phenomenon.

South Texas voters deserve better than a candidate who thinks urinating on a political opponent’s memorial is acceptable behavior, then cynically rebrands himself as a unifier when it becomes politically convenient. They deserve representatives who actually respect their increasingly conservative values, not celebrities recruited by desperate Democratic operatives to stem the tide of Hispanic voters rejecting progressive policies.

Rep. Monica De La Cruz has represented this district with distinction. Pulido’s stunt may have been nearly a decade ago, but his attempt to hide it now reveals everything voters need to know about his character and his campaign’s authenticity.
