Masih Alinejad Relays Urgent Message From Iran’s Freedom Fighters to President Trump

There’s a message coming out of Iran right now, and it’s not the one you’d expect from mainstream media coverage. Iranian American journalist Masih Alinejad sat down with Martha MacCallum this week to deliver a stark warning from dissidents inside the Islamic Republic. They’re celebrating what looks like cracks in the regime’s foundation, sure, but they’re also terrified. Their plea to President Trump? Finish the job.

“If you leave us alone with a wounded regime, they will take revenge on innocent and unarmed people,” Alinejad said. Let that sink in for a moment. These aren’t warmongers asking for endless conflict. These are people who’ve lived under the boot of theocratic tyranny for decades, watching their friends disappear into prisons, their daughters beaten for showing their hair, their sons executed for demanding basic freedoms. They know what comes next if America backs off now.

The timing here matters. Alinejad pointed to last June’s 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, a confrontation that rattled the region but ultimately left Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei still breathing, still scheming, still in power. That’s the pattern we keep repeating. We strike, we posture, we declare mission accomplished, and then we walk away while the people who actually want freedom get crushed under the regime’s retaliation.

You know what’s remarkable about this moment? The Iranian people aren’t asking us to invade their country or occupy their cities. They’re asking us not to abandon them halfway through. There’s a difference between nation building and finishing what you started. The Trump administration took decisive action against a regime that’s been at war with America since 1979. That’s not controversial. That’s overdue.

But here’s where it gets complicated. A wounded animal is the most dangerous kind, and the mullahs in Tehran have proven time and again they’ll massacre their own people to maintain control. Remember the 2019 protests when the regime killed over 1,500 demonstrators in a matter of days? That’s what happens when these tyrants feel threatened. They don’t negotiate. They don’t reform. They kill.

Alinejad’s voice carries weight because she’s not some think tank analyst safely ensconced in Washington. She’s lived this. She’s had family members imprisoned. The regime has tried to kidnap her on American soil. When she speaks, she’s channeling the voices of people who can’t speak freely, who risk everything just sending a text message to the outside world.

The conservative position here should be crystal clear. We believe in supporting people who want to live free. We believe in confronting evil, not appeasing it. We believe that American strength, when properly applied, makes the world safer. The Iranian regime represents everything we oppose: religious totalitarianism, state-sponsored terrorism, the systematic oppression of women and minorities, and an unrelenting hostility toward Western civilization.

This isn’t about playing world police. It’s about recognizing that some fights matter more than others. The Iranian people have been trying to free themselves for years. They’ve shown incredible courage in the face of unspeakable brutality. All they’re asking is that we don’t undercut their efforts by leaving a wounded but still dangerous regime in place to exact revenge.

The question facing the Trump administration isn’t whether to start something new. It’s whether to finish something that’s been going on for 45 years. That’s not warmongering. That’s strategic clarity. And if we’ve learned anything from decades of failed Middle East policy, it’s that half measures don’t work. They just prolong the suffering and guarantee we’ll be back dealing with the same problems later, only worse.
