If millions of people who entered this country illegally get to stay here legally after completing certain requirements, that’s amnesty. The chaos Salazar describes, millions in the shadows with no accountability, didn’t happen by accident. It happened because politicians from both parties refused to enforce existing laws. Americans who favor putting citizens first aren’t buying it. They’ve watched this movie before. They remember the 1986 amnesty that was supposed to be a one-time deal paired with serious enforcement.
