Washington Post and New York Times Just Got Caught Hiding What ICE Actually Arrested

The White House just handed the mainstream media a receipt they probably wish they’d never have to cash. After both the Washington Post and New York Times spent last week wringing their hands over what they called “soaring” arrests of “noncriminal” illegal immigrants by ICE, the administration decided enough was enough. Time to show America what those supposedly innocent noncriminals actually did before crossing our border.

Here’s the thing that should make your blood boil. When the Post reported that ICE detained more people without a criminal record this year than in all of 2025, they weren’t technically lying. They were just leaving out the part that matters most. You know what a noncriminal record means in their reporting? It means no crimes committed on American soil. That’s it. That’s the whole qualifier.

Lauren Bis, special assistant to the president, brought the facts the media conveniently forgot. Nearly 70 percent of illegal aliens arrested by ICE have been convicted or charged with crimes in the United States. But the actual number of public safety threats is much higher because many of these so-called noncriminals have rap sheets from their home countries that would make your skin crawl. We’re talking murder. Child sex abuse. Gang activity. The kind of stuff that doesn’t magically disappear just because someone crosses an imaginary line.

The Department of Homeland Security laid it out in terms even a willfully blind journalist should understand. That 70 percent figure doesn’t account for international warrants, INTERPOL notices, human rights abusers, gang members, or terrorists. It’s almost like the media thinks crime only counts if it happens within our borders, as if American exceptionalism now extends to giving foreign criminals a clean slate the moment they sneak past our fence.

Let me give you some names since the Times and Post seem allergic to specifics. Josue Saul Garcia-Lopez, a Salvadoran national arrested this May. No U.S. criminal record, sure. But he had an international warrant showing active membership in MS-13 and years of extortion and robbery in El Salvador. Just your average noncriminal, right?

Or how about Fredy Alexander Lopez Lara from Honduras? Clean record here. International warrant for homicide back home. Danny Granados-Garcia, another MS-13 member, wanted in El Salvador for murdering a pastor. These are the people the Washington Post wants you to feel sorry for because ICE had the audacity to arrest them before they could add American victims to their resume.

The frustrating part isn’t just that these outlets got it wrong. It’s that they had to know they were shading the truth. This isn’t sloppy journalism born from rushing to meet a deadline. This is deliberate framing designed to make enforcement look cruel and the enforcers look like jackbooted thugs rounding up innocent families. When you strip away context that changes everything, you’re not reporting news. You’re manufacturing sympathy for people who objectively don’t deserve it.

Traditional American values used to include a healthy skepticism of criminals and a basic understanding that actions have consequences. Somewhere along the way, certain media outlets decided that protecting illegal immigrants trumps protecting American citizens. They’ve chosen their side, and it’s not ours. Individual liberty means nothing if we can’t secure our own communities from foreign gang members and murderers gaming a system that rewards illegal entry.

The White House asked the right question. Why does the mainstream media continue peddling false narratives that protect criminal illegal aliens? I’ll give you the answer they won’t. Because admitting the truth would require admitting that strong border enforcement actually works. It would mean acknowledging that Trump’s approach, however unpolished, targets genuine threats rather than grandmothers overstaying tourist visas.

Limited government doesn’t mean toothless government. It means effective government focused on core duties like national defense and public safety. ICE is doing exactly what Americans elected leadership to accomplish, removing people who pose documented threats. The fact that legacy media outlets have to torture statistics and omit critical details to manufacture outrage tells you everything about whose interests they actually serve.
