Donald Trump said on Easter Sunday that he hoped Russia would reach an agreement with Ukraine this week to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Trump said, “Hopefully Russia and Ukraine will make a deal this week, as the two warring nations traded accusations about the violation of a ceasefire for Easter. They will both do big business and make a fortune in the United States of America.”
Ukraine wants a 30-day ceasefire with Russia. Russia says that the war is only continuing because Ukraine continues to fight.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President, said that Ukraine has proposed to Russia that it cease drone and missile strikes on civilian infrastructures for at least 30 days.
Zelenskyy wrote on X: “If Russia does not take this step, it will show that they only want to do things to endanger the lives of people and prolong the war.”
