Pro-Impeachment Sen. Ben Sasse Expected To Resign

Published on

Former staffer of Sen. Ben Sasse, a pro-impeachment senator from Nebraska, said Thursday morning on KFAB radio Omaha that he is likely to resign as Senate President.

According to reports, Sasse will accept the presidency of University of Florida Gainesville, where the Florida Gators are based.

If he resigns, the governor of the state, Peter Ricketts(R), will appoint someone to replace Sasse’s Senate seat.

According to reports, Sasse’s replacement could serve until 2025. This could mean that both Nebraska Senate seats are up for reelection in the 2024 presidential election.

The Center for Effective Lawmaking has ranked Sasse as one of the most ineffective senators since his election in 2014.
