Twitter Files’ latest investigation revealed that Vijaya Gadde (the company’s former censorship chief) and Yoel Roth (the Trump-hating leftist) placed the account on a TrendsBlacklist.
Twitter executives used several tools to blacklist conservatives or shadowban them. Ex-New York Times reporter Bari Weiss posted a thread to Elon Musk’s forum. She revealed that Libs Of TikTok had been added on the Trends Blacklist.
Weiss explained to us that a group called Strategic Response Team – Global Escalation Team (or SRT–GET) was responsible for deciding whether users should be restricted.
Weiss said that the level was greater than official tickets. Weiss stated, however that it was still higher than official tickets.
Weiss said that the secret group consisted of Vijaya Gadde, Head Legal, Policy and Trust, and Yoelrot, Global Head Trust & Safety, Jack Dorsey, Parag Aggrawal, and others.
Weiss claimed that Chayaraichik (Libs of TikTok) had suspended her account six times by 2022. Each time, she was stopped posting for one week.
Weiss said that Twitter had repeatedly told Raichik that she was suspended for violating the policy on hateful conduct.
Weiss claimed her suspensions were justified by the committee because her posts encouraged harassment of ‘hospitals online’. Weiss said that her comments implied gender affirming care was equal to child abuse and grooming.
Weiss kept pointing to the fact that Twitter employees don’t always respond in the same manner to online harassment. However, a tweet doxing LibsofTikTok’s operator was still accessible on the platform.
Twitter Support replied to Raichik’s tweet, confirming that Raichik published his address. Weiss said that the tweet regarding doxxing was still active.
Twitter executives weren’t limited to LibsofTikTok.
Thursday Files also revealed that Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shadowbanned under the “Visibility Filtering or “VF” rubrics.
Twitter users also inquired about these accounts after their revelations.
Musk tweeted Thursday night, stating that software updates were being made to the social media platform to display users’ true account status. Musk tweeted Thursday night that the social media platform was working on software updates to show users their true account status. This will enable them to determine if you have been shadowbanned and what appeals you might be able to make.
