Republican Sen. Joni Ernst and a group of senators have sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken asking them to designate the Taliban as a foreign terrorist organization. The letter was sent shortly after the Taliban gained control of Afghanistan and resumed the same oppressive habits that characterized their leadership in 2001.
