According to a recent report by the New York Times, the Biden Administration will be offering prisoners held by the United States government at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the COVID-19 vaccine long before it will be made available to all American citizens.
The Pentagram signed a memo approving delivery of the vaccine to the detainee population in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. This memo was released by Clayton Trivett Jr, a federal prosecutor who is trying on a case against five inmates who conspired in the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. 40 detainees will be offered the vaccine so that they can resume war crime hearings, including purported 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who had bragged about the terrorist attack that killed roughly 3,000 Americans.
The prioritization of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines in Cuba comes during the same time that the U.S is experiences shortages. President Biden had warned the public that it would take months before we can get the majority of Americans vaccinated, which also counters his administration’s goal of administering 100 million vaccine doses within his first 100 days in office. To date, officials have administered more than 26 million doses and expect to have enough to inoculate 300 million Americans by the early fall.
Critics slammed the Biden Administration for this prioritization, also pointing out all of the other instances where privileged people had skipped the lines for a shot. A Mexican television host flew into the U.S and cut past elderly Floridians for a vaccine, the Hollywood Elite are doing what they can to be the first in line, and even accused murderer O.J Simpson was prioritized for a COVID-19 vaccine over others.
With millions of Americans waiting for the vaccine, President Biden is ensuring that terrorists are protected first. A spokesperson for the Department of Defense had confirmed that prisoners would be given the shots as soon as next week.
“You can’t make this up. The ridiculousness of what we get from our government. They will run the vaccine down to those lowlifes at Guantanamo Bay before every resident of the United States of America gets it in the theater of the absurd,” said Tom Von Essen, who was city fire Commissioner during 9/11 and lost 343 firefighters on 9/11.
Demolition supervisor John Feal, who was at the Ground Zero pile in the aftermath of the attacks, was also stunned by the news and has yet to get the vaccine. He called it an insult to the 9/11 community and those who were killed, pointing out that the prioritization of terrorists shows how truly backward our government is.
Thousands of teachers have had their vaccine appointments canceled due to dwindling supply and our vulnerable elderly are still waiting to be scheduled for their shots. It is simply inexcusable and un-American. President Biden has prioritized convicted terrorists over American veterans. When do we draw the line?
