Biden’s New Climate Rep. Still Owns His Private Jet

U.S special presidential envoy for climate John Kerry recently suggested that the workers who would lose their jobs in the fossil fuel industry should just ‘go to work to make the solar panels.’ Records from the Federal Aviation Administration reveal that despite his position on combatting fossil fuels in the Biden Administration, Kerry’s family still owns a private jet.

During a news conference, Kerry defended Biden’s plan to combat climate change and suggested that the workers who would lose their jobs from his new climate policies would “have better choices” such as manufacturing solar panels. He blamed more recent job losses on “market forces” while implying that clean energy jobs are better anyway.

President Biden’s executive orders blocked construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, rejoined the Paris Climate Accords, and would temporarily halt oil and gas leasing in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

“You know, you look at the consequences of black lung for a miner, for instance, and measure that against the fastest-growing job in the United States before COVID was solar power technician. The same people can do those jobs, but the choice of doing the solar power one now is a better choice,” Kerry said.

Private jets can emit up to 20 times more carbon dioxide per passenger than using an average commercial airliner. Kerry’s plane’s registration certificate currently runs through October 2023. His wife also owns a charter jet company “Flying Squirrel LLC” which has collected over $1 million in assets. Nothing like anti-carbon lectures from a guy who travels the world on a private jet.

High-profile politicians such as Rep. Dan Crenshaw and Sen. Tom Cotton criticized Kerry for disregarding empathy when telling the tens of thousands of Americans who lost their jobs to go make solar panels. With all of the private jet trips and owning a 76-foot yacht and several mansions, Kerry has the carbon footprint of a small nation.

“John Kerry – worth hundreds of millions — telling blue-collar workers to just ‘go to work to make the solar panels.’ By the way, solar will pay on average $20K less than oil and gas jobs. John Kerry thinks you should just shut up and accept it. No,” Rep. Crenshaw tweeted.

Sen. Ted Cruz also ripped Kerry’s remarks regarding solar panels. “Rich, out-of-touch Dems lecture the thousands of blue-collar union members whose jobs are being deliberately destroyed by the Biden admin,” he wrote.

It’s easy for a man who married an heiress and never worked a day in his life to go and tell regular Americans to “make solar panels” In all likelihood, the solar panels and windmills will be made in completely different places than where fossil fuel industry employees reside. They’ll probably be made in China anyway.
