Why Gun Control Measures Are Based On Mere ‘Assumptions’

Published on

Democrats have always taken the tragedy of mass shootings to push their own political agendas and if it isn’t based around race or anti-guns, then it’s all for pushing heavier gun control measures. Former President Barack Obama called on lawmakers to fight the “epidemic of gun violence” and President Biden suggested that he might even look at passing executive orders on gun control in the near future. Haven’t we learned by now that criminals don’t legally buy or register their guns (no matter how many restrictive measures you impose) and that is exactly why they are criminals. But that requires believing in personal accountability and having common sense.

The comments were made in light of suspected gunman Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, who opened fire inside a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder, Colorado. He killed 10 people, including active-duty police officer Eric Talley. While authorities have not established a motive, they have found him to be the only shooter.

“A once-in-a-century pandemic cannot be the only thing that slows mass shootings in this country. It’s time for leaders everywhere to listen to the American people when they say enough is enough,” Obama tweeted, including a full statement of eradicating gun culture.

The tweet was met with heavy backlash from users asking why he didn’t “eradicate the gun culture” during his eight years of administration or “say enough is enough” when he was leading. The crocodile tears were real but users argued back that gun control is not the answer and that these weapons will still be found in the hands of criminals. Obama went too far as to blame the Boulder shooting on “disaffection, racism, and misogyny” without having any background of the shooter nor a motive. Leftists continue to fuel and force their own narratives into mainstream media without a proper investigation or analysis of the case. It’s just pure liberal stereotyping.

President Biden has also hinted at enacting a new gun control legislation, which includes a nationwide ban on so-called assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. While he has talked about “better enforcement” of existing gun laws and “strengthening” the federal background check, lawmakers have noted that the White House doesn’t have a clear picture of what that actually means. He has not offered a timeline or how the impact of gun control legislation would affect current gun owners but has hinted at pushing executive orders very soon.

“I don’t need to wait another minute, let alone an hour, to take common-sense steps that will save lives in the future. And to urge my colleagues in the House and Senate to act. We can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country once again,” Biden said Tuesday, addressing the Boulder shooting.

The ban would include semi-automatic guns such as the popular AR-15 style rifles and “assault weapons.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has also said Biden will be looking at executive orders on gun control, adding that they are “considering a range of levers, including working through legislation, including executive action.” She adds that Biden has been ‘passionate’ about gun safety measures since he was vice president under the Obama Administration and that they will be working with ‘multiple channels’ in order to do so.

Biden adds that this is not a “partisan issue” but an “American issue.” Mind you, he didn’t have any details on the Boulder shooting when making the announcement. The Dems did not give details on how the shooter obtained the weapon, if it was legally, what type of weapon it is, and what his motivations were. But hey, they don’t want another crisis to go to waste when they could be pushing radically left agendas.
