As questions continue following the 2020 elections, attorney general Merrick Garland announced that he would be looking into a series of voting laws that were passed by GOP-controlled states and investigate the protection of voter rights in the state audits being conducted.
Garland said that he will “scrutinize” any post-election audits for evidence of voting law violations, which has many states, including Arizona, worried about what federal interference will look like in the state’s future. It seems like the US Justice Department is afraid that a little audit will reveal that Biden’s “win” is as illegitimate as the votes he got.
“We are scrutinizing new laws that seek to curb voter access, and where we see violations, we will not hesitate to act. Some jurisdictions, based on misinformation, have utilized abnormal post-election audit methodologies that may put the integrity of the voting process at risk and may undermine public confidence in our democracy,” Garland said.
Arizona has been conducting its own lengthy audit since the flood of election crimes last year. Republican members have told AG Garland that the Department of Justice has no say when it comes to state rights. Republican Party Chairwoman Kelli Ward tweeted, “Seems Merrick either wants to ignore or forget all about the US Constitution…”
State Senator Wendy Rogers called the DOJ “one of the most corrupt institutions in the USA” and said that Garland will not touch Arizona ballots or machines unless he wants to “spend time in an Arizona prison.” She suggested that Garland focuses on stopping terrorism instead and that the free state of Arizona will not tolerate this “federal meddling.”
The Arizona audit has gotten so much attention that representatives from Georgia, Alaska, and Colorado are now touring the Veterans Memorial Coliseum to analyze the Arizona audit process. Some of the Pennsylvania representatives included state Sen. Doug Mastriano, state Sen. Cris Dush, and state Rep. Rob Kauffman.
One America News Network’s Christina Bobb announced on Twitter that representatives have “expressed interest in the Arizona audit” and with the chance of possibly replicating this in Pennsylvania. Some have been excited to hear from the auditors and get a behind-the-scenes tour.
“There’s been a lot of criticism about this audit. So, they have concerns that they want to see addressed, namely, is voter integrity maintained? Is the secret ballot maintained? Of course, is there’s any way that the audit could somehow be disparaging any certain demographic? So this is going to be an opportunity for them to get out and see exactly what’s happening in Arizona — and if they like what they see, take it back to Pennsylvania,” Bobb said.
The Biden Administration has already tried to intervene in the election efforts by Arizona Republicans and has suggested that the recount is illegal. Now, the DOJ is threatening a clash between “state and federal authorities” over the audit. Why would they give any attention to an election audit unless they were worried about getting different results?
The media and institutions are trying to delegitimize the Arizona Audit so when the results point to Trump having won the state, they can say that the results were “purely partisan.” Why would the Department of “Justice” find an audit so unworthy in the first place?
