White House press secretary Jen Psaki recently announced that the U.S government intends to go “door-to-door” to harass Americans about taking the COVID-19 vaccination. The Biden Administration went from ’15 days to slow the spread’ to reaching herd immunity at 60%. Now they need everybody in the U.S to be vaccinated, whether or not they have already had the virus. There are currently 157 million fully vaccinated Americans in the United States with fewer than 6,000 cases and 50 deaths per day.
“The president will outline five areas his team is focused on to get more Americans vaccinated. One, targeted community, by door-to-door outreach to get remaining Americans vaccinated by ensuring they have the information they need on how safe and accessible the vaccine is,” Psaki said.
Many social media users pointed out the level of compliance that the Biden Administration expects by sending government officials door-to-door to meet their agenda deadline. They said this will “end poorly” and easily backfire come election time. Others said that they are tired of the U.S government overstepping its bounds and that “literally knocking on doors” takes things to a new level.
Psaki said that the administration will devote the rest of the summer to help get unvaccinated people vaccinated and wind down the mass vaccination sites. She announced a five-point plan as a way to increase vaccination rates and get the remaining people “protected” from the virus. The plan comes shortly after the Biden Administration missed its deadline of having 70% of Americans at least partially vaccinated by the July 4th Holiday. According to a recent NPR report, 67% of American adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Psaki announced that the plan will also include a renewed emphasis on getting vaccines to more primary care doctors and physicians, emphasizing that the Delta variant is present and still more “contagious” than other forms of COVID-19. Studies, however, have shown that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines remain effective against it.
President Biden stressed that the administration shall continue its efforts to get Americans vaccinated and make vaccines available through their community door-to-door outreach.
One reporter asked Psaki if the White House was frustrated by people who don’t want to take the vaccine. She responded that they recognize it is “ultimately up to individuals” but that they will continue to press as hard as they can in practices that increase vaccination rates around the country. She said that most people can go back to “versions of normal” if they get the vaccine, but not totally normal.
“We know that the rates of young people under the age of 27 are not where they need to be or we want them to be. So we’ll continue to utilize the best practices and work in partnership with health and medical experts and meet people where they are to get the vaccine out to more communities,” Psaki said.
Psaki’s comments about getting young people vaccinated come at the same time that the Food & Drug Administration added a warning label to the Pfizer Inc/BioNTech and Moderna vaccine shots that indicate a rare risk of heart inflammation after use. Some kids have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 vaccine, with more than 1,200 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis being reported.
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention reported 309 hospitalizations from heart inflammation in persons under the age of 30, with heart inflammation cases appearing notably higher in young men.
Mind you, this is only some of the vaccine’s short-term effects. We have no idea what could be down the road 2-5 years from now. But hey, you should expect Psaki knocking on your door about getting the jab. Talk about a bunch of brave individuals knocking door-to-door when there’s a “deadly” virus in the air.
