President Joe Biden has been caught on the hot mic for more than a few bad takes this week. The White House is currently trying to backtrack claims the president made about falsely claiming he was once a truck driver.
People with declining cognitive functions tend to make up the gaps in their memories and believe every word they say. The president of the United States is doing that exact thing on national television every day (or when the White House lets him out). There’s a reason Obama’s former physician is requesting a cognitive test on Biden. Things for him are only getting worse.
During a recent visit to the Pennsylvania Mack Trucks Lehigh Valley Operations facility, Biden was talking about American manufacturing and had told a group of executives that he used to work as a trucker. He said used to drive an 18-wheeler, which requires a special kind of license. Joe Biden has been a career politician for nearly forty-eight years and this is the first time anyone has heard this claim.
“I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man. I got to,” Biden said in a video posted to Twitter.
The White House has been struggling to keep up with Biden’s claims, particularly this one. A Biden Administration spokesperson pointed to a December 1973 article from the Wilmington Evening Journal about Biden riding in an 18-wheeler on a 536-mile trip to Ohio. He took the 47,000-pound cargo truck to learn more about truck drivers during the energy crisis.
Biden said at the time he made the trip because he wanted a “firsthand account” from the truckers who carry 50% of all of the goods shipped within the United States.
While conservative media outlets pointed out that “riding in a truck” is not the same as ‘driving one,” the spokesperson also noted that Biden drove a school bus in the past as a summer job. They cited a United Federation of Teacher’s post about his previous position. Again, the media pointed out that a school bus is not an 18-wheeler. The majority of school buses, on average, have a total of six wheels. The White House spokesperson stopped responding.
The Republican National Committee also fact-checked Biden’s claim as a truck driver and said there’s zero evidence he’s had trucking experience. They pointed out the same 1973 article about the president riding in a truck for one night in 1973 before making sure he returns home by plane.
President Biden continued to be an embarrassment during the speech when at one point he confused former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump when talking about the 2009 recession. He claimed it was just a “Freudian slip” but there have been far too many for that.
“Back in 2009, during the so-called Great Recession, the President asked me to be in charge of managing that piece – then-President Trump – excuse me, Freudian slip – that was the last president – he caused–anyway, President Obama when I was Vice President,” Biden said.
Biden even made a claim earlier in the week that he was on the Judiciary Committee “150 years ago.” That would be a pretty astonishing life if his birth certificate didn’t indicate that he was born on November 20, 1942.
Even Biden’s most recent CNN Town Hall Event was a struggle. At one point, the president struggled for a full 40 seconds to work his way through a sentence. The crowd sat quietly in shock.
This is the president with enough popularity to garner 81 million votes…and he can’t even handle the media spotlight for a week. There’s a reason the White House keeps Biden’s appearances to a minimum and more people are opting him to take a cognitive test. He can’t even stick to the soundbites they put on a card or handle more than a single subject.
