Chicago Mayor Caught As The Only Maskless One In A Masked Crowd

Just the other day, President Joe Biden was caught violating Washington D.C’s mask mandate on his date night with first lady Jill Biden, being photographed maskless as he walked through an upscale Italian restaurant. And now, another top Democrat politician has bypassed their own guidance. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was recently seen violating her own mask mandate as she posted a picture of herself maskless amid a masked crowd at Game 4 of the WNBA Finals.

The Chicago Department of Public Health made an announcement in August that they were going to reinstitute the city’s mask mandate for all indoor public settings, including bars, restaurants, gyms, residential buildings, and private clubs. The mask mandate extended for all Chicago residents ages two and older, regardless of vaccination status.

“What a moment. Congrats champs! A first but not the last for @chicagosky,” Lightfoot captioned the maskless picture of herself.

In the picture, Lightfoot was not seen eating or drinking. Similar to the previous mask mandates, masks can be removed while actively eating or drinking.

The city’s health department commissioner, Dr. Allison Arwady, said that they must remain in a “substantial transmission standpoint” as they enter the Holiday season. She said the “big question” was what’s going to happen between now and Thanksgiving as that is when flu season generally takes off.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has not mentioned whether he would be lifting the state’s mask mandate anytime soon, with Mayor Lightfoot continuing to push these extreme measures. The politicians who push extreme measures always end up being the ones who violate them the most. Many Lightfoot critics also referenced back to other “universal masking” advocates who break their own rules. The list includes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Virginia candidate Terry McAuliffe, and San Francisco Mayor London Breed.

Pelosi went maskless to a San Francisco hair salon despite coronavirus restrictions closing most salons down at the time. McAuliffe was spotted on the Amtrak without a mask, blatantly ignoring the federal law that requires people to wear a mask while onboard trains and in stations. He is even photographed directly under the sign that states, “Face masks must fully cover the mouth and nose and secure under the chin.”

Mayor Breed was also spotted recently at a nightclub with strict mask mandates despite not wearing one. She had not been eating and drinking at the time and even responded to critics that they don’t need the “fun police” to micromanage what politicians are doing. But most have argued that if the top political officials can’t bother to wear a mask, then why should anyone else?

Last week, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy was even seen at an indoor ball maskless after imposing a mask mandate for children in school. Other Democratic lawmakers getting caught breaking their own rules include California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Most people have gone on to question why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention haven’t updated its masking guidance as vaccinations increase and case numbers diminish. Others said it adds to how “ludicrous” and “anti-science” the mandates have always been.
