Fauci’s New Documentary Defends China & Avoids Talking About Gain-Of-Function Research

National Geographic’s Fauci documentary has been receiving a lot of criticism over its decision to stay silent on several Wuhan lab scandals and hold drastically different opinions on the pandemic. While Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a 98% for offering an “entertaining and edifying overview” of life in public service, audience members found that it refused to be thoroughly informative. The documentary filmmakers themselves didn’t even comment on documents that uncovered Fauci’s gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab.

In the documentary, Fauci’s career is examined through the AIDS crises and coronavirus pandemic, along with how he handled both diseases and the political blowback he received. Some believe that the documentary was just out to make Fauci appear as a saint by gathering former President George W. Bush, current Biden Administration official Susan Rice, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and U2’s Bono to sing and praise him.

The documentary also digs into the defense for China and even says that those who blame China for the coronavirus are the same “bigots” who blamed gays for AIDS during the 80s and 90s. Fauci, on the other hand, has remained relatively silent over the funding of gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan lab. Times magazine named Dr. Fauci as one of the “most influential people of 2020” while Instyle named him “The Good Doctor.” People magazine even included him on its list of “People of the Year.” Mainstream media has continued to ignore his contradicting testimony and influence on the Chinese Communist Party.

The documents show Fauci providing the EcoHealth Alliance with a total of $3.1 million, including $599,000 that the Wuhan Institute of Virology used to identify and alter bat coronaviruses that are likely to infect humans. Yet the documentary failed to acknowledge any faults or controversies surrounding Fauci, the highest-paid government worker.

“I went into this with a very open mind, but the more I watched, the more I felt it was just propaganda. A very poorly made documentary that left much to be desired,” one reviewer wrote.

Another reviewer said it was less informative as a documentary on Fauci and felt more like a long advertisement for a political candidate. They said they felt unsure of who the movie is for and that they wanted to give it a chance to criticize from a nonpolitical standpoint. They went on to say that it was odd during a pandemic to raise one man above all, almost like an idol. They said it felt disrespectful to all those who lost to COVID-19 and disappointed as they felt it was just a propaganda piece.

“Most movies like this are skewed towards support or criticism, but MAN, I could NOT believe how bad this one was. It is the most blatant propaganda doc of this sort I have ever seen in my life. Not one critical thing to say, everything is Fauci as moral crusader vs. an uncomprehending and scornful world,” another reviewer wrote.

Fox News Tucker Carlson pointed out that a vaccinated man wearing a mask alone outside is a clear sign of mental illness, not heroism. Host Jesse Watters even mocked Fauci as the “perfect Hollywood actress” for craving attention and drama if you criticize his performance. Carlson said they “trust the science” but not the same science that comes from a guy who founded the risky research in that lab that sprung the whole pandemic in the first place.

Fauci has continued to keep the media on his side and sell whatever narrative they want. The Fauci bubble will burst soon as more people are pushing back against vaccine mandates and stopping the spread. It’s been long enough.
