Sen. Rand Paul has been the one to call out President Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci for his role in the coronavirus pandemic. They have sparred over multiple accusations of gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China, with stacks of evidence that points the origins of the virus back to the lab. Sen. Paul has even accused Fauci of lying to Congress about his role in the research, which was later confirmed by his leaked emails.
And now, Sen. Paul is going off on Dr. Fauci for his most recent recommendations regarding holiday gatherings. Dr. Fauci shared that it is “too soon to tell” if people can get together for the Christmas holidays, citing the surge in Delta variant cases. But Sen. Paul condemned Fauci for the recommendations and accused him of ignoring natural immunity studies. He emphasized how Fauci was turning a blind eye to natural immunity studies because it doesn’t go with the Dem narrative to get as many people vaccinated as possible.
“Hey, this guy [Fauci] has an opinion on baseball, hockey, tinder, and Christmas, but he was asked the other day about natural immunity that you acquire after the disease [COVID-19], he is like, “Oh, that is really interesting thought, I never thought about that. I don’t have an opinion because I haven’t thought about naturally acquired immunity.” He has and he is lying to you,” Sen. Paul said.
Sen. Paul went on to accuse Fauci of dodging the subject of natural immunity because he thinks it would “slow down vaccination.” He said he is all for recommending people to get vaccinated, particularly those at risk, but that you can’t ignore immunity studies and then force it on younger people. He asked why we should treat a 10-year-old the same as an 85-year-old when there are statistics putting them at different levels of risk.
Other critics asked how an “infectious disease expert” could not think about natural immunity or believe that a vaccine should be mandatory for everyone without even studying natural immunity. It should come as no surprise that Fauci has been lying about everything COVID-19 related since the beginning and that an infectious disease doctor never thinking about natural immunity is just “malpractice.” Fauci has said for months that he simply doesn’t have a “real firm answer” on natural immunity and has continued to push for mass vaccinations.
Some have even gone so far as to mock “coronavirus survivors” or those who acquired natural immunity after the disease. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra called those who refuse vaccines as “flat-earthers” during a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee hearing.
Rand Paul called Becerra’s remarks “insulting” and “against science,” adding that he might want to be aware of the studies supporting natural immunity before insulting millions of Americans who’ve had COVID-19 and recovered. He said in a free country that a vaccine should be a “decision” and that they should quit lying to people about natural immunity if they want to lessen vaccine hesitancy. Paul was referring to the Israeli study that showed a vaccinated group of individuals was “seven times more likely to get infected with COVID” than those who got COVID naturally.
“Quit lying to people about naturally acquired immunity. Quit lording it over people, acting as if these people are deplorable and unwashed. Try persuasion instead of government cudgels. Try humility instead of arrogance. Try freedom instead of coercion. Most of all, try understanding there is no more basic medical right than deciding what we inject into our bodies,” Paul lashed out.
There need to be more people like Rand Paul calling out the so-called “medical experts” for their biased reporting and vaccine-driven narratives.
