Establishment Media Cast Doubt On CDC’s Shortened Five-Day Quarantine Guidance

Mainstream media recently questioned the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) after they shortened the quarantine guidance to five days. They feared that the new rules were driven by science and money and instead reflected the fact that the guidelines are being rewritten.

The establishment media has alerted readers to the fact that the latest quarantine revision was unacceptable after nearly two years of changing coronavirus guidelines from the CDC and Dr. Anthony Fauci.
The New York Times published Wednesday’s article entitled “Will Shortened Immunization Periods Spread the Virus?”

According to the article, a reduced quarantine period of ten to five business days could increase the number of infections in the country while the omicron variant spreads rapidly.

Yonatan Grad is an associate professor at Harvard T.H. in immunology and infectious disease. “To me this feels honestly more about the economy than about the science.” The Times was told by Chan School of Public Health. He said, “I think it will result in at most some people emerging quickly from isolation and so there will be more opportunities to transmit and that, of course, will speed up the spread of Covid-19.”

The CDC’s newest guideline was not only questioned by The Times. The Washington Post published a piece titled “Worries about an omicron surge that could cause a breakdown in essential services spurred new quarantine and isolation rules.”

The Post interviewed Walid Galed, a professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. He stated that the decreased quarantine guidance will increase transmission.

Gellad stated that there are “people who can transmit infectious diseases after five days.” It’s not likely to be the majority of people, but it is there. Therefore, by doing this you are encouraging people to take part in activities that could increase transmission.

Gellad suggested that one should disobey the CDC guidance if they are “able to do anything differently than what the CDC says.”

Los Angeles Times placed the wire from the Associated Press on Wednesday morning. It also featured doubts about the CDC’s new guidelines. The title of the article reads: “CDC move to reduce COVID isolation causes confusion, and doubt.”

According to the publication, the updated guidelines were published in response to complaints from business communities that a ten-day quarantine was fueling labor shortages. The AP noted that there were frequent warnings from business leaders about the potential for a spike in cases and resulting in staffing shortages.

Airlines for America, a lobbying group, stated to the AP that “the decision is the right one based on science.” However, there are other opinions in the article that could be argued against.

Dr. Eric Topol (founder and director of Scripps Research Translational Institute) said that it was reckless to do this. It is crucial to use a rapid test or another type of test in order to confirm that the person isn’t infected.
