Hispanic Voters Shift Toward Republicans, Now Split Evenly Between Both Parties

Hispanic voters have historically been a stronghold of the Dem Party, but a new poll shows that the demographic is moving steadily to the right. This is also coming at the same time as President Biden’s wide-ranging unpopularity.
According to a new poll, Hispanic voters now have a 37% split between conservatives or dems on the generic ballot. Another 22% of respondents indicated that they were not sure.

One of the pollsters reported that Latinos have become more and more swing voters… They are a swing vote we’re going to need to fight for.

Hispanics were almost evenly divided on the issue of a 2024 presidential match. 44% of those polled for President Biden said they would vote in an identical election, while 43% said that they would vote to elect Trump. The poll revealed that Trump was supported by Hispanic men, but Biden was supported more strongly by Hispanic women.

Anzalone stated that you can see in this poll that there is a group of Hispanic men who have become more conservative and were undoubtedly enticed by Trump. The demographic gains of the conservatives have been particularly evident in Hispanic-rich communities in South Texas.

Ryan Guill, a Dem state legislator, switched to the GOP party last month.

Guillen stated that something was happening in South Texas and that many of us are waking to the fact Washington, D.C.’s values are not our values.

The WSJ poll surveyed registered voters from Nov. 16 through Nov. 22. Half of the respondents were reached via cellphone. A quarter of the respondents were reached via text message and completed an internet survey. A quarter of the respondents were also interviewed via landline telephone. Hispanic voters were included in the survey, and their margin of error was +/- 7.6 percentage points.
