Biden Warns There’s No Sanction That Is Immediate As US, Allies Target Russia Over Ukraine Invasion

President Joe Biden stated that there was no immediate sanction. This is the same as how the U.S. and its allies use sanctions to attack Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine. Biden issued several rounds of sanctions against Russia this Week. On Thursday, he declared that he would target four additional Russian banks, VTB and limit exports.

According to the U.S., the sanctions also target Russia’s elites: Sergei Ivanov and his son Sergei, Andrey Patrushev and his son Nikolai, Igor Sechin and Andrey Pauchkov. Yuriy Soviev and the two real-estate firms he owns, Galina Ulyutina and Alexander Vedyakhin.

Other sanctions have been placed against Russia, including those targeting banks, businesses and oligarchs. Biden stated on Thursday that the sanctions do not take effect immediately and that no one expects the sanctions to prevent anything from happening, despite previous messaging from the White House stating that the sanctions were intended to deter or stop.

In a new interview, Biden said that people shouldn’t be expecting immediate results from the sanctions.

He stated, “And there is not a sanction which is immediate.” It is not possible to sanction someone and then say, “You’re not going to be able be the president of Russia.”

He stated, “But, i think, these sanctions sind broadest sanctions in history and economic sanctions also as political sanctions.”

He stated that his goal is to keep NATO, Europeans, and allies on the one page.

Putin believed that he could divide NATO, opening up a pathway for his people to travel. It hasn’t. If you notice. He stated, “It has been total unanimity.”

After Daleep Singh (Deputy National Security Advisor) stated that sanctions against Russia “not intended to disrupt Russia’s energy exports,” the White House was criticised.

Singh said that sanctions were not meant to stop energy flowing from Russia to the rest the world.

Singh later reaffirmed his comments, saying that “our actions weren’t intended to disrupt in any way the current flow of crude oil from Russia to other parts of the world.”

Singh said that sanctions were intended to decrease Russia’s “long term” energy capacity but not its “short term” one.
