Facebook Drops Hate Speech Suspension For OH GOP Candidate After Breitbart Inquiry

Facebook suspended Ohio senator candidate Josh Mandel for 24hrs after he posted an image entitled “Veterans Before Illegals” that the social media Masters of the Universe called “hate speech” which was in violation of the company’s “community standards.”

“Facebook’s Ministry of Truth suspended my account for saying that we should place American military veterans above illegal immigrants,” the senator candidate tweeted Monday.

Mandel said, “These ungrateful elites don’t understand that freedom exists ONLY because American military personnel stand watch in dark corners across the globe.”

Mandel posted a screenshot of a notice from Facebook that showed him the notice. It stated, “You cannot post or comment for 24hrs” because “you have previously posted something that doesn’t comply with our Community Standards.”

Facebook’s message added, “This post is against our standards for hate speech. So only you can see them.” “Repeatedly violating our Community Standards could result in further account restrictions.”

Mandel’s image, which Facebook deemed “hate speech”, simply said, “Veterans Before Illegals.”

Mandel said that he was a Marine veteran who served honor guard at many Marine funerals and found this Facebook action saddening and un-American.
